Hatchet Chapters 1-5 Summary Director
"Hatchet" is a realistic-fiction book by Gary Paulsen about a teenage boy named Brian Robenson going to visit his father in Canada flying in a bush-plane. His parents were divorced and it was all that he could think about. It was only him and the pilot in the plane. Before he left, his mother gave him a hatchet. He was sitting in the co-pilot seat and the pilot offered to let him fly it so he did. When the pilot took over again, it was going fine. The pilot started having chest pains and Brian knew that he was having a heart attack. The plane crashed in the woods and Brian was all alone. He began to get thirsty and he drank water from the lake. He made his shelter against a stone with twigs. Brian did not know what he was going to eat. The first five chapters of "Hatchet" are great!
